Beyond the Budget: How involvement in committees, the PAC and District initiatives grows your leadership

In this workshop, Lila will discuss why teacher-librarians involvement in school and district initiatives can be beneficial. While keeping your eye on the budget is a good thing to do, understanding the needs and desires of colleagues, the school administration and district can provide innumerable learning opportunities to expand your leadership skills and grow the library. Lila will also touch on social media and blogging and provide examples.

    Lila is a teacher-librarian at Ecole Willow Point Elementary, in Campbell River SD72. This is her third year as a TL, but she has taught elementary for more than 10 years. She has worked in the private, international and public systems. Lila in most interested in growing school cultures collaboration and leadership, with a passion for experimenting with and learning new technology with her students.
